Integrated pollution prevention and control (IPPC)
The system of Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) applies an integrated environmental approach to the regulation of our industrial activities. This means that emissions to air, water (including discharges to sewer) and land, plus a range of other environmental effects, must be considered and managed together. It also means that regulators have set permit conditions so as to achieve a high level of protection for the environment as a whole.
These conditions are based on the use of the Best Available Techniques, which balances the costs to the Selden against the benefits to the environment. IPPC aims to prevent emissions and waste production and where that is not practicable, reduce them to acceptable levels.
Selden is an IPPC certified and licensed site, IPPC is the highest standard and significantly builds upon ISO 18001
ISO 45001 (ISO 14001)
BS OHSAS 18001 has been replaced by ISO 45001 the new international standard for occupational health and safety management.
Much of the DNA from BS OHSAS 18001 can be found in ISO 45001, the principles are very much the same, but many enhancements are delivered in ISO 45001 including stronger leadership, better worker involvement and a focus on health, particularly mental health
Selden is certified to ISO 45001
ISO 14001
ISO 14001 provides guidance on how to consider multiple aspects of our business – procurement, storage, distribution, product development, manufacturing, etc.- so that we reduce our impact on the environment.
It also focused us on evaluating how we manage emergency response, customer expectations, stakeholders and our relationships with the local community.
Selden is certified to ISO 14001
ISO 9001
