When designed and used properly plastic is a fantastic material, of course poorly designed single use plastics shrouded in glamorous “must have” marketing are a huge environmental issue.

The plastic containers we source are manufactured in the UK and wherever possible contain at least 30% PCR (Post Consumer Recycled) content. To be classified as PCR the parent plastic MUST have been through the hands of a consumer be they retail or professional.

Recycling is good, but it’s not perfect and it does use large amounts of energy so the CO2 profile is no where near as good as reusing containers.

Sadly it is a fact that whilst consumer focused plastic collection and recycling is reasonably well organised and growing day by day, in the professional sector there is precious little set up to collect and reprocess the larger containers the the cleaning industry uses.

The cleaning industry needs urgently to move to closed loop – Return, Refill, Reuse
